It really can’t wait
(Baby it’s cold outside)
Compressed air can’t sustain
(Baby it’s cold outside)
At these freezing temps
(I wish that they could)
Without causing chaos for your team
(I’ll call Blake & Pendleton right now)
Alright, alright. There’s a reason we aren’t in the song writing business.
But we are in the compressed air business – and when it’s cold outside, we know that the last thing you want to deal with is an air compressor that requires more time and money than you have to spare.
Before winter hits full force, you should have your compressed air equipment checked out and fully serviced by our team of experts here at Blake & Pendleton.
Get a seasonal check up
Our experienced technicians can spot issues with your system that a compressed air layperson may not catch.
Some of the primary goals of a service visit specifically preparing for freezing temperatures include:
- Check out the ambient temperatures of your compressor environment.
If your compressor is exposed to freezing temperatures, there’s always a chance that your system will freeze up. Our service technicians will make sure that your compressor won’t shut down due to frigid surroundings and will provide a safe way to keep the system’s environment at the appropriate temperature.
- Inspect the dryer dewpoint and suction pressure.
If the evaporator freezes up, the dryer won’t allow any air flow. Ensuring that the suction pressure and dewpoint are correct will drastically reduce the risk to your air dryer!
- Look for safety hazards.
If your compressor and dryer drains aren’t working properly, the resulting moisture in your system can freeze up and cause air lines to break or split and cause a serious safety issue.
Warming up when it’s cold outside
Indoor and outdoor compressor areas require different preparation. If your compressed air system is outdoors or uninsulated, your set up may require heat lamps or pumping heated air into its surrounding environment.
While these methods are useful, they do present a potential safety hazard of their own.
Our team can help facilitate the appropriate measures to maintaining your system’s environmental temperatures. Safety is always our number one priority.
Just remember that not all ideas are good ones, so it’s best to call in professionals before adding some of these measures.
